Ethos
Colville Primary School inspires children through engaging and challenging learning within a happy school.
Values
There are four key values that are central to our ethos at Colville:
-
Perseverance
-
Aspiration
- Respect
-
Kindness
Values are principles that guide behaviour. We believe that a strong moral code empowers children to be effective learners and good citizens.
In our assemblies, we address current topics as well as recognise some international days and weeks observed by the United Nations. In this way, we promote awareness of issues that are related to children and society. We also recognise and celebrate religious festivals including Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah, Ramadan and Eid.
In our recognition assemblies, we celebrate our learners of the week and children's achievements.
Our topics will cover Health and Well-being, Personal Religions and Values, Festivals and Celebrations and Global Issues.
We also reference the British Values of
- Democracy
- The rule of law
- Individual liberty
- Mutual respect
- Tolerance and acceptance of those of different faiths and beliefs
In conjunction with the above, here are some topics we will have as part of our assemblies half-termly.
